Nanay, Mothering the mother

 

Inspired by traditions of postpartum care in the Philippines and beyond, this service is for any mum to be (must be past the first trimester) or postpartum parent in search of something to support them along their recovery journey and celebrate the awe-inspiring milestone of creating new life.

What does Nanay mean?

In the Philippines, Nanay is a loving term for a mom (sort of like ‘mommy’). Our Nanay service pulls from our founder’s Filipino heritage, as well as from postpartum care traditions found around the world, to uplift a shared reverence for birth and the postpartum period. There is an art to caring for pregnant and postpartum bodies, and our Nanay service is designed to ‘mother the mother’ with ultimate tenderness and ultra-specific care, acknowledging the magical nature of creating life. Seshin

 

The Seshin Sesh combines ritualistic beauty with cleansing, new-age wellness to create an undoubtedly sumptuous experience rooted in the rich cultures of Korea. Adapting and elevating traditional practices, the idea that Korean public baths are free of vanity and inhibition continue to ring true. With the goal being ensuring the skin is remarkably soft, the Seshin Sesh transforms this simple exfoliation service into a luxurious cleansing ceremony. Additional benefits include increased blood circulation, lymphatic drainage, wrinkle prevention, hyperpigmentation reduction, detoxifying and ridding the body of waste, as well as water weight elimination.

 
 

Hammam

 

Inspired by the practices of the traditional Turkish hammam, these dynamic warm water bath rituals combine robust and invigorating exfoliation, splashing water, and a moisturizing finale to revitalize the body, get the blood flowing, and energize the mind. Hammam services include exfoliation with Moroccan black soap as well as an exfoliating glove and/or foam bag, plus a gentle warm water rinse and a body oil finale. All prices include full room sanitation before and after your service. 

 

Massage

 

All massage services will include an initial private, in-depth consultation with your spa companion to determine your unique needs, issues, and goals. Our objective is to make sure you are getting the most out of your time, and not only give you a great service while you’re visiting us, but also provide you with a homecare plan and additional recommendations that can help you build or maintain your personal wellness practice. We’re here to help you craft a way of life in which tenderness for yourself and your community has a regular and special place.*

Reflexology

 

Also known as zone therapy, reflexology is a practice of applying therapeutic pressure to specific points on the body, particularly (but not exclusively) the feet, ears, and hands. Rooted in traditional Chinese medicine and based on the idea that certain body parts are connected to certain organs and body systems, reflexology is traditionally performed to relieve tension and treat illness. One of our front-of-house services, our approach to reflexology is designed to be welcoming and approachable — this is a great walk-in service that can be enjoyed socially as you wait to enjoy an item from our cafe or cap off a work day with a quick but impactful moment of self-care and relaxation. 

We enhance our reflexology services with the following complimentary items: 

  • Bluetooth-capable headphones, giving you the option to lose yourself to audio of your choice picked from our library of podcasts, guided meditations, and curated playlists.

  • A cooling lavender towel to reduce inflammation and fill your senses with a sumptuous calm.
